Paris Métro app is great, actually
Today I learned that the Paris region made a great app to let you buy Paris Métro tickets. You can either buy virtual tickets and scan your phone when you want to enter the Métro, or use the app to recharge a Métro Card (dubbed Navigo, because let’s not make things too obvious either). And the app is available in English!

You can even use the app to know which Métro line to take to go where you want. Google Maps already supported that, but I’m really happy that an app maintained by public services does the same.
As a former Parisian myself I’m very positively surprised by how pleasant it’s become to just buy a ticket. Brussels is still unbeatable with their “pay directly at the Métro gate or in the tram” system, but that’s such a huge step forward from the clunky, unreliable machines you had to go to before.
